HOMEMADE LIP SCRUB

HOMEMADE LIP SCRUB-

Hello everyone! I am sharing the recipe of a homemade lip scrub today. This lip scrub works wonders for very dry and chapped lips. All the ingredients required for this scrub are easily available.

You would need-

  • Extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil
  • Organic honey
  • Brown/white sugar
  • Rose or vanilla essence (optional)
  • A soft bristle tooth brush
  • One small bowl

Extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil-  Both these oils are excellent emollients. Extra virgin olive oil is the finest quality of olive oil available. The same goes for the coconut oil. Extra virgin olive oil is loaded with antioxidants. Both coconut oil and olive oil have innumerable benefits for your skin. They make the skin smoother and firmer. They both are incredible moisturizers and help to stimulate cell repair. Both these oils give you a smooth and flawless skin.

Organic Honey–  It is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients. Organic honey is the purest form of honey, which hasn’t been pasteurized. It gives a long-lasting hydration on your skin. It also helps to clarify the skin and keeps the pores clean. It removes dead skin cells and also helps to decrease the appearance of the scars and dark spots. It deeply conditions your skin and increases healing and tissue regeneration.

Method-

Take two teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil. Pour it into a small bowl. Mix one teaspoon of organic honey in it. If the organic honey is not obtainable, then use Dabur honey instead. Take one teaspoon of brown or white sugar and mix it in the bowl along with the oil and honey. The sugar granules give it the texture of a scrub and would help in exfoliation of the lips. You can mix a drop of rose or vanilla essence for fragrance. This step is optional. Mix all the ingredients effectually together in the bowl. Your lip scrub is ready now. Apply the lip scrub gently on your lips and take an old soft bristle brush for exfoliation. Use the soft bristle brush on your lips in steady circulation motions to take out the dead skin. Never pull the dead skin with your fingers. The brush would help you to get rid of the flaky skin on your lips. Then wash your lips with lukewarm water to take off the scrub. Apply a hydrating lip balm. Follow this method twice a week to get soft, squishy lips. It would also help to get rid of the discoloration on the lips.
